Stormwater and drainage — 2070 Construction, Metro Atlanta
Stormwater and drainage Metro Atlanta

2070 Construction builds stormwater and drainage infrastructure for development projects across Metro Atlanta. We install storm drain systems, excavate and construct detention and retention ponds, form and pour headwalls and spillways, and manage NPDES compliance and erosion control through construction. We work on residential subdivisions, townhome communities, build-to-rent developments, and commercial sites.

The stormwater and drainage scope

  • Detention pondsExcavation, shaping, riser structures, and outlet control for stormwater detention.
  • Retention pondsPermanent water features designed to hold runoff and support site drainage, including the retention pond at Uptown Row.
  • Bio ponds and bioretentionEngineered bioretention areas for water quality treatment, including the bio pond at Uptown Row.
  • Storm drainage systemsStorm sewer mains, catch basins, curb inlets, yard drains, and outfall structures.
  • Headwalls and spillwaysCast-in-place concrete headwalls, wing walls, and spillway structures at pond outlets and culvert inlets and outlets.
  • Underground detentionStructural storage systems beneath parking or developable area where surface ponds are not feasible.
  • NPDES complianceSilt fencing, sediment basins, construction exit pads, and ongoing inspection and maintenance through active construction.
  • SWPPP coordinationWorking to the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan developed by the civil engineer.

Stormwater is where permitting, compliance, and construction meet

Stormwater infrastructure is one of the most heavily regulated scopes on a development project. The civil plan has to meet local detention requirements, NPDES compliance has to be maintained through construction, and the final inspection and acceptance by the jurisdiction is often a gate to closing out the project. 2070 Construction delivers stormwater scope with that full context in mind. We build the infrastructure to the plan, we maintain compliance through construction, and we carry the project through final inspection.

Questions

Do you build detention and retention ponds?

Yes. We excavate, shape, construct riser structures, and install outlet controls for both detention and retention ponds. Uptown Row in Alpharetta included a retention pond and a bio pond.

Do you install bio ponds and bioretention areas?

Yes. Bioretention scope is becoming standard on many Metro Atlanta jurisdictions' stormwater requirements. We install bio ponds, underdrains, and the associated planting soil and media when called out in the plan.

Do you handle underground detention?

Yes. When surface ponds are not feasible due to site constraints, we install structural underground detention systems.

Can you coordinate NPDES compliance?

Yes. Silt fencing, sediment basins, construction exit pads, and ongoing inspection and maintenance through active construction are part of our scope on every project with earthwork exposure.

Do you build cast-in-place headwalls and spillways?

Yes. We self-perform cast-in-place concrete headwalls, wing walls, and spillway structures. This is one of the places where our concrete capability and our civil capability overlap.
