Atlanta vertical concrete construction

The complete concrete structure of a building — post-tensioned mid-rise shells, subterranean parking, and elevated decks — delivered as the concrete subcontractor to the general contractor across Metro Atlanta.

Our approach

Vertical concrete construction is a different kind of project from horizontal site development. Rather than taking raw land to a finished pad, 2070 Construction builds the concrete structure of a building — the shell — as the concrete subcontractor working in tandem with the general contractor. The scope is post-tensioned slabs floor by floor, subterranean parking decks, elevated and suspended slabs, and the technical shoring a tight urban site requires.

2070 delivered the VIO Sandy Springs shell — an 18-residence luxury condominium with two levels of subterranean parking and three stories of condominiums on a 0.5-acre site — and is building The Gregory, a 36-unit, six-story condominium in Sandy Springs. This is the capability that separates a concrete contractor from a site contractor that pours flatwork: 2070 carries the structure of a building, not just its foundation.

What we deliver on a vertical concrete project

  • Concrete shell packages as subcontractor to the general contractor
  • Post-tensioned slabs, coordinated through the stressing sequence
  • Subterranean parking decks and below-grade structural concrete
  • Foundation walls under lateral earth pressure
  • Elevated and suspended slabs over parking, amenity, and mechanical levels
  • Shoring coordination for tight below-grade sites
  • Sequencing in tandem with the GC and the structural engineer of record

Questions

Do you build the complete concrete structure of a building?

Yes. We deliver concrete shell packages — the full concrete structure from foundations through the topping slab — as the concrete subcontractor to the general contractor, as we did on VIO Sandy Springs.

Do you build post-tensioned mid-rise structures?

Yes. VIO Sandy Springs was a post-tensioned concrete structure of three condominium stories over two levels of subterranean parking. The Gregory is a six-story condominium.

Do you build subterranean parking and handle the shoring?

Yes. We build below-grade parking decks and coordinate the technical shoring tight sites require — the VIO site was only half an acre, with no room to slope the excavation.

Do you work as the concrete subcontractor to a GC?

Yes. On vertical concrete construction we work as the concrete subcontractor, delivering the shell in tandem with the general contractor and the structural engineer.
